How to Participate
Six steps from a first idea to standing at your board on fair day.
Research may not begin until the SRC approves your plan
1. Submit the participation interest form
Open to any student in Stanislaus County. No account is required. You will receive a reference number by email — keep it, coordinators use it to find your record.
2. Watch for your registration invitation
When registration opens, coordinators email you a link to create your student portal account. Your interest form details are pre-filled.
3. Complete registration and submit your research plan
Add your project title, category, teammates, adult sponsor and designated supervisor, then upload your research plan and required forms.
4. Wait for SRC approval before starting research
The Scientific Review Committee reviews your plan and forms. You may not begin experimentation, data collection or building until you are approved in writing.
5. Address any requested changes
If the SRC requests changes, you will get an email and a message thread in your portal. Update your documents and resubmit.
6. Do the work, then present at the fair
Once cleared, run your project, prepare your display, check in on fair day, and meet the judges. Completed rubrics are returned to you afterwards.
